Cadillac Lyriq 2023 Review: Price, Features, Release Date, and More
The Cadillac Lyriq SUV is the motor vehicle giant’s first foray into the luxury electric vehicle market. It has sleek aesthetics and a modern interior. There will be single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants, ranging from up to 312 miles per charge.
The Lyriq was built from General Motors’ revolutionary new scalable battery architecture. This enables DC rapid charging and standard in-home charging of the battery. The Lyriq’s road manners are more concerned with comfort, silence, and elegance than performance. The cabin is big and well-designed but smaller than that of other SUVs.

Pricing and Choosing Which One to Purchase
There are three variants of the Cadillac Lyriq:

The Lyriq starts at $59,990 for the single-motor Debut Edition variant. It has a limited number of possibilities. This model sold out, so we propose the 500-hp Dual Motor AWD variant with a towing capacity of 3500 pounds.
EV Power and Motor
The Lyriq is available with rear-wheel drive and a 340-hp electrical motor. The entry-level configuration of the Lyriq provides adequate acceleration and responsiveness. However, it lacks the same commanding presence as competitive SUVs such as the BMW iX or the Model X.
A 500-hp dual motor all-wheel drive engine is available, which adds a second motor to the front to drive these wheels. We anticipate the model to be more thrilling in terms of acceleration. The Lyriq’s road manners will also frustrate enthusiast drivers. The Lyriq seems robust and capable when driving aggressively, but it’s not much joy.
Although the steering is adequately weighted, it lacks tactility. Cadillac’s regenerative braking system is ferocious. This means you can only slow the vehicle down enough to avoid touching the brake pedal by lifting the accelerator pedal.
The ride is smooth on paved highways, but some users may find the suspension too firm for rougher routes. We’ll update this story when we get an opportunity to test the Lyriq.
Real-World MPGe, Fuel Economy
According to the EPA, the Lyriq rear-wheel drive Lyriq can score 92 MPGe in cities and 82 MPGe on highways.
Cargo and Interior
The inside of the Lyriq is rich and sumptuous, giving it an elegant vibe. Metallic brightwork covers the door panels and central console. The spacious storage tray between the front passenger and driver is lined with bright blue leather upholstery. It gives a fun pop of color.
The Lyriq idea included four seats, a console that separated the front and rear seats, and a touchscreen for back seat passengers. The production Lyriq, on the other hand, has a traditional rear bench seat.
Even though the Lyriq lacks a gasoline engine, it has a quiet cabin. To mitigate road noise, advanced noise cancellation technology is applied. Despite the spacious interior, the cargo room is smaller than other SUVs. Cadillac has also omitted any storage space beneath the hood.
Battery Life and Charging
General Motors will introduce Ultium, a new EV battery technology based on the Lyriq. Because of this scalable technology, General Motors can produce batteries ranging in size from 50 to 200 kWh.
The greatest size, however, is designated for large EV pickup trucks such as the GMC Hummer SUT. The Lyriq’s battery has a capacity of 102.0 kWh and can be charged for a range of 312 miles in a single motor model. DC rapid charging is available on all models. The Lyriq can also be charged using standard household plugs.
Connectivity and infotainment
The dashboard of the Lyriq, like that of the Escalade, is dominated by a large, 33.0-inch sophisticated LED touchscreen that serves as both the SUV’s infotainment and the driver’s gauge display.
Drivers who dislike touchscreens can use the center console’s click wheel to control the infotainment system. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Wi-Fi Hotspot are all standard. AKG, the top-end audio gurus, has included all versions of a rich-sounding, 19-speaker stereo system.
Features for Driver Assistance and Safety
Cadillac offers driver-assistance technology with the Lyriq. Subscriptions to the Cadillac Lyriq and Super Cruise hands-free driving systems are required.
