Where is Madhyamaheswar Temple Located?
Madhyamaheshwar Temple is a part of the Panch Kedar temples in Uttrakhand, dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is situated in the Goundar village of Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India.
The architecture of this temple is in a classic North Indian Style. This temple is surrounded by the snow-capped Himalayas, standing opposite the Chaukhamba, Neelkanth and Kedarnath mountain peaks.

History of Madhyamaheswar Temple
According to the Hindu Mythology, After the Kurukshetra war, Pandavas searched for Lord Shiva to absolve themselves of the sins of killing their family.
Lord Shiva, infuriated by the dishonesty and the destruction caused during the war, disguised himself as a bull and disappeared into the ground with his body parts appearing in five places.
Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of navel-shaped lingum in Madhyamaheshwar Temple. This temple was built by the Bhima, the second born of the Pandavas. There is also a small temple where the idol of Saraswati made of marble is installed in the sanctum.

To reach Madhyamaheswar temple, you need to travel to the Rudraprayag District of Uttarakhand and reach Ukhimath. 20 km away from Ukhimath, Ransi Village serves as the base camp for the trek to the Madhyamaheswar temple, a challenging 16 km hike that takes you to 3490 metres above sea level.
Since the place is located in the hilly terrain, Madhyamaheshwar does not have a railway station or airport close by; however, Uttarakhand has airport and rail connectivity. The place is amongst those few travel destinations where reaching is quite challenging.
